Deputation Form 

In accordance with Procedural By-law 60/2023, if you wish to appear before Council to make a deputation, you must complete this form. 

Anyone wishing to appear before Council to speak to a matter that is on the upcoming Council agenda shall register as a Deputation by submitting this form and all accompanying materials (if applicable) to the Clerk no later than 12:00 p.m. one (1) business day prior to the scheduled Meeting date. 

• Individuals who register as a deputation will have their name and the purpose of their deputation published on an agenda.
• Deputations are limited to five (5) minutes. Council may extend the five (5) minutes time period by a majority vote of the members present by way of a Motion to be decided without debate.
• Deputations shall not be permitted to appear before Council for the sole purpose of generating publicity for an event.
• No deputation shall be made to Council on matters relating to litigation or potential litigation, including those matters which are before and under the jurisdiction of any court or administrative tribunals unless such matter is referred to Council by the said administrative tribunal court.

The purpose of a deputation to Council is to allow individuals to address specific items that are on the agenda for that particular Council meeting before a decision is made about that item. It's an opportunity for community members to participate in the decision-making process and communicate directly with Council. Please review the upcoming Council agenda and indicate which item(s) you wish to speak about at Council. 

All attendees are required to follow Section 12 of Procedural By-law 60/2023, Duties of Attendees.

Council meetings at Town Hall may be video recorded and/or live streamed.

The submission of a request to make a deputation does not guarantee the request will be approved. The Office of the Municipal Clerk reserves the right to schedule or deny a request for a deputation, in accordance with the Procedural By-law.
